These are terrific policy proposals which I agree with wholeheartedly, but I'm wondering about scale issues such as once a nation state gains dominance in a particular industry then it may be necessary to abandon competition and just come up with totally new industries, which of course requires geopolitical savvy and technical creativity.
It seems to me that China is slowly but surely creeping toward a global domination where the human agency of their massive population will give advantages that Americans will never see again now that they've been squandered by American conservatives.
Bill Gates got some attention a few years back when he mentioned having a tax on robots that would apply towards UBI and I really like the vacancy tax idea, which I hadn't heard of until I read this article, so many thanks for that :)
And of course, we have to get off the petro tit, which China also seems to be addressing even as we Yanks idiotically careen towards repeating catastrophe.
We've got to do whatever it takes to get our best brains back to college no matter what their upbringing, but that won't happen until we do whatever it takes to slay the conservative Ultra class dragon once and forever.
The problem with conservatives is the same problem with corporations: they sacrifice long-term prosperity for short-term gains. What they're doing to the country is laying off their employees to get money for stock buybacks.
It's interesting you mention Bill Gate's AI tax. Around the time I published this article Sen. Sanders proposed a bill to make half of all the profits of AI publicly owned. A flat tax on AI profits would be a great way to fund UBI!

Well done, and keep on keeping on!
Thank you!
