Black History Month 2026: Solidarity Among Colonized Peoples

Day 8

Like Black people, the Palestinians are a colonized people. Like Black people, they have been subjected discrimination, apartheid, violence, and genocide.

For this reason (and many others), the Palestinians have almost always sided with Black people in our struggles. That includes supporting Black Lives Matter. During a time (2014-2020) when the majority of wh1te liberals/moderates in the US were criticizing, tone-policing, and concern trolling Black people for protesting police brutality, Palestinians were giving protestors advice for combatting tear gas. (By the way, tear gas is banned by the Geneva Convention due to it being a chemical weapon and using it in combat is a war crime.)

This is why I will always stand with the Palestinian people, especially as they face a genocide.

NOTE: this is NOT an opportunity to post anti-Semitic comments under the guise of supporting Palestine, nor is it an opportunity to try to claim criticism of Israel’s actions makes someone an antisemite. The Palestinians are Semites, too. Israel doesn’t represent all Jews (in fact, the country was racist against the Ethiopian ones), nor is it supported by all Jews. Jews (a people and a religion) shouldn’t be collectively blamed for Israel’s (a country) actions. You WILL BE BANNED if you try any of that nonsense here. You’ve been warned.
