Black History Month 2026: Black People in Fantasy

For those who can’t read the small text, the guy in the first panel is asking, “Why are there Black people in *insert fantasy that doesn’t exist in real life*?”

There’s zero reason there can’t be Black elves, Black mermaids, or Black vampires. It’s FANTASY. It’s MADE-UP. It’s NOT REAL. How do you know there couldn’t be elves who come from areas where they needed more melanin in their skin? I didn’t realize there was a Grand Council of Fantasy that met periodically and decided what an elf was supposed to look like.

There’s nothing wrong with Black characters in fantasy. You’re just racist.
